Applicants to this programme must have a profile of personal qualities in addition to the necessary technical competences. In this sense, the new entrant is expected to have a critical and open attitude towards knowledge. Additionally, they are expected to have a positive attitude towards group work, being able to develop their social skills in R&D&I groups and communities in the ICT sector.
Access will be preferential for those students who have studied the "Research Master in Information and Communication Technologies" offered by the University of Valladolid, as it establishes the theoretical and practical knowledge required to access this PhD programme.
On the other hand, taking into account the recommended entry profile, the Academic Committee of the Programme will decide on admission based on the following criteria:
- The academic record of the training period, according to the scale established in section 4.5 of Annex I of RD 1044/2003.
- Other academic merits presented by the applicant (CV, motivation letter, letters of recommendation, proof of knowledge of English at B1 level).
- In the event that the Commission considers it necessary, a personal interview with the candidate for a better assessment of his/her academic training in relation to the lines of research offered.
These criteria will be weighted as follows: section a) will account for 60% of the overall assessment of each candidate, section b) will account for 30% of this assessment, leaving 10% for the assessment of section c). In the case of students with demonstrable knowledge of the programme's lines of research (for example, those who have completed their TFM in one of the research groups), they will receive the maximum score in section c).
In addition, the candidate must include a document signed by the supervisor of their thesis, in which he/she guarantees his/her availability for that direction (access to the document). The supervisor must be a PhD with accredited research experience. To justify this requirement must also be provided, if applicable, the document of supervision with recognized six-year research periods (access to the document) or without recognized six-year research periods (access to the document).
