The academic committee of the Doctoral Programme, in agreement with the tutor or director, studying the curriculum of the PhD student, will decide whether it is appropriate for him/her to take complementary training, as set out in Royal Decree 99/2011. Where appropriate, the list of subjects to be taken from the University of Valladolid's postgraduate academic offer will be defined, taking into account the specific training required by the PhD student for the proper development of his/her doctoral thesis.
In the specific case of the PhD programme in Computer Science:
- If the student comes from a degree in which he/she has not received training in research methods, he/she must take the Research Methodology subject of the University Master's Degree in Research in Information and Communication Technologies (MUI-TIC) or equivalent.
- If the student does not justify, as part of his/her master's degree training, specific training in subjects related to the department's lines of research, the programme's Academic Committee will indicate to each student, depending on his/her background and interest, the attendance of up to three of the six subjects of the aforementioned MUI-ICT or equivalent.
